Lunch Break
We love impromptu training sessions, even if it means interrupting lunch to try something new. While the concept of dogs-jumping-dogs is not new, it was Shadow's first time ever participating. And while Rugby is an experienced jumper, but this was his first time acting as the jump.

First Summer Swim Session
We can't stay away from Riverfront Park. How could we? Its so close and has an awesome section of the river that we can sneak to with a few of the Applewoods dogs. Sydney and I, along with the up and coming Applewoods Apprentice, Anya took a few of the dogs yesterday. It was a lot of fun, and we have great plans to take some of the newer dogs on our next trip.
Since we took SO many pictures, I'll only post a few.

Out'n'About
We had extra people at Applewoods today, so we paired off everyone with a dog and went for a nice LONG walk. We ran some errands while we were out, and did some training too. Once we got to Main Street, we made our way slowly up as we took turns weaving through our group of dogs.
We stopped by this open field to do recalls under the Farmers' Market sign, and everyone got a turn.
Holly still ducked under the sign, even though she could fit easily through the space!
By the time Crackers got her turn, everyone was ready for a break.
Team Applewoods took a few minutes to relax before going on.
We couldn't walk to Main Street and miss taking a picture with the cow...
The dogs said they were way too tired to walk the rest of the way back to Applewoods, so we told them we could take the train back.
The train never came though. No ride back for us, we had to walk!
We practiced our Sit/Stays and Down/Stays outside of the bank and the post office.

Not-so-clean retrievers
Maybe it is because they are retrievers and genetics forces them into the baby pools before rolling around in the dirt. Maybe it is because they still play like puppies. Maybe it is a combination of both, but the more dirt they collect, the more fun they have! I'd say they had a pretty good day!
