Our All Stars

Team Applewoods was well represented at the 2012 All Star Performance Dog Associations Obedience Championships. Our three competitors were entered in Open Obedience and Super Star Obedience divisions. The Open division included three rounds in the ring, and the Super Star division included five rounds in the ring. Both divisions called for group stays on both Saturday and Sunday.

The first member of Team Applewoods was Pam, with Cabot. Cabot was the only Brussels Griffon showing at All Stars, and he did Applewoods AND his breed proud! He attracted lots of attention outside of the ring too, with his working retrieve. He carried his "Griff Stuff" bag with all of his dog show essentials everywhere around the show site. Cabot finished 13th in Open!

The second member of Team Applewoods was Jan, with Roxanne's Sugar. Jan stepped in and handled Sugar for the All Stars tournament since Roxanne was away on vacation. You would have never known that this was the first time Sugar and Jan showed together, or that it was Jan's first time in the Open ring. They worked very well together and ended up 9th in Open!

I was the third member of Team Applewoods, with Rugby. This was Rugby's first time appearing in the catalog as "OTCH Mister Rugby Sevens UDX OM2 RN" and was also the only Maltese at All Stars. He lived up to his new name and put on a very steady and consistent performance. He ended up 7th in Super Stars, and enjoyed every minute of his All Stars weekend.

We are very proud of our Applewoods team, those that showed and those that came to help. This team of three, intact male dogs... the team with two toy dogs and a Labrador... Team Applewoods ended up 9th overall. Congratulations to the group, and thanks to All Stars for putting on such a great event!
